Linking Web Pages

Link Web pages to create a Web application page flow.

To link Web pages:

  1. In the WorkSpace Navigator, expand the project that contains the pages that you want to link, expand webroot, then expand WEB-INF.

  2. Double-click faces-config.xml.

The JSF Application Configuration Editor opens.

  3. Select the Navigation tab.

    The Navigation page appears.

  4. Drag the pages that you want to link from the WorkSpace Navigator and drop them onto the Navigation page.

  5. Click Palette on the Fast View shortcut bar.

The Palette opens in the perspective.

  6. Click Link on the Palette.

This activates the link control so you can draw lines to link pages and indicate the page flow.

  7. Click on the page that you want to link, move the cursor to the page to which you want to link, and click again to release the cursor.

A line with an arrow appears connecting the two pages. The arrow points to the page the line was drawn to to indicate the navigation flow.

  8. (Optional) Add an action.

  9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until all pages and actions are linked.

  10. (Optional) To change the scale, select either View|Zoom In or View|Zoom Out from the main menu bar.

The scale percentage appears on the main toolbar. You can also change the scale by clicking the arrow in the percentage tool to open the drop-down menu and selecting the scale percentage.

  11. (Optional) To align icons in the navigation flow diagram:

    1. Click Select on the Palette.

      This activates the select control.

    2. Select the icons that you want to align.

The Align tools are enabled on the main toolbar.

    3. Click the direction that you want the alignment.

You can align icons left, center, right, top, middle, or bottom.

The icons are aligned in the selected direction.
