To facilitate the process of managing the database on a Windows platform, Sybase recommends that you use the following service. However, you have the option of removing the service and managing the default ASA database using scripts.
Do the following to remove a Windows service.
Stop the Windows database service. Select Settings | Control Panel from the Start menu. Then select Administrative Tools and Services .
Right-click Adaptive Server Anywhere - UO51Runtime and select Stop.
Locate the following removal script:
<installation directory>\Orch-5_1\asa\removeUO51Runtime_service.bat
Use a command utility to run the script.
A message appears when the service is successfully deleted.
You can reinstall a Windows service that has been removed.
Locate the following install script:
<installation directory>\Orch-5_1\asa\installUO51Runtime_service.bat
Use a command utility to run the script.
A message appears when the service is successfully added.
