Defining Alert Message Properties

Use the New Alert Definition wizard to associate a status with an alert message and specify the limit and interval for the alert message generation.

Status

Identify the status to apply to the message or object when the alert message is generated.

  • Add a new status by typing in the field.

  • Select an existing status from the drop-list.

Status names are limited to 15 bytes. If your encoding setting uses multi-byte characters, you may not be able to enter 15 characters. See Supported Encoded Character Sets and Locales for more information.

Alert Generation Limit

Define the limit as to how frequently this alert message is sent. Choose one of the following from the drop-down list:

Default: Generates a single alert per tracking ID when alert generation is used.

Per Tracking ID: Generates the maximum of one alert per Tracking ID per <Interval Hours>.

Across All Tracking IDs: Generates the maximum of one alert per SetType per<Interval Hours>.

Alert Interval Hours

Define in hours the limit as to how frequently this alert message is generated. Choose an option from the drop-down list.

Click Finish to complete the Alert Message Definition and exit the wizard.
