In the Message page, set up the initial properties assigned to the message (root) node of a message definition.
You can set default message properties for a single message definition in the New Message Definition wizard when you create a new message definition or globally for your entire workspace by selecting Windows|Preferences|Sybase, Inc.|Message Designer|Message Defaults.
At design-time, when you create a message definition, the message node inherits the default properties you selected.
Message Properties
Field | Description |
---|---|

Encoding | If you cleared the Use System Defaults check box, select a character encoding to use as the default, for example, ISO-2022-JP. |
Locale | If you cleared the Use System Defaults check box, select the language and locale to use as the default, for example, Japanese (Japan). |
Create Validating Parser | For maximum performance, clear this check box. For testing purposes, you may want to select this check box. |
