Defining an Operation Parameter for a Transformation Service

Each transformation service can have only one operation, which is defined by its operation parameters. A transformation service can have any number of operation parameters, which are normally defined by the source and target elements you select when you create the transformation service. You can edit and add operation parameters in the Transformation Service editor.

You can add an operation parameter in one of two ways:

To add an operation parameter using drag and drop:

  1. In the Transformation Service editor, click the Map tab.

The Transformation Service Implementation page appears.

  2. Drag a content model (an XSD, WSDL, Java service, EJB service, or database service) from the WorkSpace Navigator onto the map.

The Schema for Map dialog appears.

  3. In the Schema for Map dialog, click Source if the schema is an input document or Target if the schema is an output document.

The new node appears on the map, attached to either the In node or the Out node.

To add an operation parameter using Add:

  1. Select the Service Interface tab.

  2. In the Operation Parameters section, click Add.

A new operation parameter appears in the list.

  3. Edit the operation parameter properties in the Properties Panel view or the Properties section.
