Creating Composite Applications

Use the New Composite Application wizard to create a new composite application.

Note

The Composite Applications folder appears in WorkSpace Navigator only if you have selected Mobile Development Portal in Window|Preferences|General|Capabilites. See Setting Capabilities Preferences.

  1. Select the Click to Perform icon to launch the New Composite Application wizard, or select File|New|Composite Application.

  2. Specify the following information:

    Connection ProfileSelect the connection profile from the drop-down list, or click Create Profile to create a new connection profile.
    Composite Application NameEnter a name for the composite application.
    StatusSelect the status of the composite application from the drop-down menu.
    TypeSelect the type of composite application from the drop-down list:
    • Mobile Tab Flow – select this type when creating a mobile application with tabs.

    • Portal Application Flow – select this type for individual applications on one page.

    • Portal Page Flow – select this type for serialized applications on multiple pages.

  3. Click Finish. This creates a composite application without any content and launches the composite application editor. Use the composite application editor to create new composite applications and edit existing composite applications.

  4. After adding content to the composite application and selecting the layout, you can add postprocessing options if desired. See Setting Postprocessing Options for Advanced Mobile Applications.

  5. Save the composite application by selecting File|Save As from the main menu. Enter a name for the composite application and click OK.

  6. Deploy the composite application.
