Creating Adapter Keys

The database table adapter does not have default keys installed so you must create new autofill keys. Use the Create a New Autofill Key dialog box to create a new database table adapter key.

To access the Mobile Personalization profile view

  1. Open Enterprise Explorer.

  2. Connect to your Unwired Acclelerator connection profile.

If your connection is successful, the UA connection profile expands in the Enterprise Explorer and displays Mobile Personalization.

  3. Connect to the Mobile Personalization profile view. In the Enterprise Explorer, right-click Mobile Personalization, and select Connect from the context menu.

If you connection is successful, Mobile Personalization expands in the Enterprise Explorer and displays database table and username/password.

To create a new database table autofill key:

  1. In the Mobile Personalization profile view, select Database Table|New Key. This opens the Create New Autofill Key dialog.

  2. Enter the values for the new autofill key:

    • Autofill Adapter – select the autofill adapter from the drop-down list. The drop-down list contains all autofill adapters that are defined on the UA server that can be edited. Since the Username/Password adapter is not editable, it is not in the Autofill Adapter list.

    • Autofill Key Name – enter a key name. This is the name used by applications, along with the user ID, to locate personalized input values for different users. It must be unique within the adapter.

    • Autofill Key Type – select the type of input required for the value from the drop-down list. The listed datatypes are those defined on the UA server. These include:

      • Text – the input field requires a text string.

      • Integer – the input field requires whole numbers.

      • Drop Down – the input field allows users to select a value from a dropdown list of predefined values.

      • Password – the input field requires a password. The value is shown as ***** when typed in the user’s personalized section.

    • Description – a text description for the use of the key.

The Define as Read-only box is disabled when you create a new autofill key since you must still set a value for the new autofill key.

  3. Click OK when you are finished.
