You can now shut down your database server.
In Sybase Central, right-click the server name.
Choose Stop Server from the submenu.
By default, DBA permission is required to shut down the network server, and all users can shut down a personal server.
Normally, you should not shut down a server while it is still connected to one or more clients.
To shut down servers in a Sybase IQ multiplex, open the Multiplex folder, select the server to stop and choose File > Server > Σtop (Alt+F, v, o). Alternately, right-click the write server and choose Server > Stop. You may then choose which servers to stop.
In the following chapter, you will learn how to create and manage databases on your server.
