You can add or drop named data caches and reconfigure existing caches and their memory pools by editing the configuration file that is used when you start Adaptive Server.
You cannot reconfigure caches and pools on a server
while it is running. Any attempt to read a configuration file that
contains cache and pool configurations different from those already
configured on the server causes the read to fail.
