Setting Parameters That Affect Latency

Latency is directly affected by configurable network communication parameters in RAP, Sybase IQ, and Adaptive Server Enterprise.

Latency statistics display on the Operations Console Monitor tab, and are calculated by RAP. Although latency is not a configurable value, RAP, Sybase IQ, and Adaptive Server Enterpise use parameters that either relate to latency or can directly affect latency statistics.

• RAP Latency Parameters
  Some RAP parameters are related to latency, and some parameters directly affect latency statistics.
• Adaptive Server Enterprise Latency Parameters
  Some Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise parameters can directly affect latency statistics.
• Sybase IQ Latency Parameters
  Some Sybase IQ parameters directly affect latency statistics.
