RAP - The Trading Edition stores large amounts of historical, reference, and real-time data from corporate sources, market data vendors, and securities exchanges for fast access by automated trading applications and various user communities with analytic needs.
RAP incorporates an integrated data model that is designed for multiple-asset portfolio trading applications, and includes PowerDesigner®, a tool for modeling messages and managing logical and physical data models. End-to-end integrated modeling helps ensure consistency across your custom feed handlers and databases.
RAP also includes scripts that you can use to configure the repository test data, and tune performance. A browser-based Operations Console lets you monitor system activities, and perform many configuration and administration tasks.
Real-time data streams from market data vendors can be loaded into the cache repository very quickly to keep the data current. Real-time data streams can also be simultaneously loaded into the store repository to continuously build upon historical data. The capacity of the historical repository reaches into the petabyte range.
The RAPStore repository is a column-based data store that can scale to a high number of concurrent user connections. You can use the RAPStore repository with Sybase Replication Server® (sold separately), which allows transaction updates to be automatically applied to RAP data.
RAP uses a RAM-resident cache database, which is configured to capture streaming data, and a disk-based repository for storing historical data.
