Administer truncation rule details, create, edit and delete truncation rules, and run truncation rules manually from the Truncation Rules subtab.
Truncation rules govern when derived
and market data is deleted. Rules specify which of the oldest data to delete. There are two types of truncation rules: scheduled and cache-full.
-
Scheduled (time-interval-based) rules truncate data according to set time intervals. For example, you cancreate a rule that states: Every 10 minutes, on minute 5, truncate any data in table X that is older than 3 hours. The time intervals available for scheduled rules are 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 1 hour.
-
Cache-full (memory-threshold-based) rules truncate data when a memory threshold is reached. For example, you can create a rule that states: When the cache is 80% full, truncate any data in table X that is older than 3 hours.
