Data Truncation Rules

Administer truncation rule details, create, edit and delete truncation rules, and run truncation rules manually from the Truncation Rules subtab.

Truncation rules govern when derived and market data is deleted. Rules specify which of the oldest data to delete. There are two supported truncation rule types: scheduled and cache-full based rules.

• Scheduled (time-interval-based) rules truncate data according to set time intervals. For example, you may create a rule to: Every 10 minutes, on minute 5, truncate any data in table X that is older than 3 hours.
• Cache-full (memory-threshold-based) rules truncate data when a memory threshold is reached. For example, you may create a rule to: When the cache is 80% full, truncate any data in table X that is older than 3 hours.

• Viewing Truncation Rules
  View and manually execute existing truncation rules using the Truncation Rules subtab.
• Creating or Editing a Truncation Rule
  Create new truncation rules or edit existing ones from the Truncation Rules subtab.
• Deleting a Truncation Rule
  Delete truncation rules from the Exisiting Truncation Rules pane.
