Creating or Editing a Truncation Rule

Create new truncation rules or edit existing ones from the Truncation Rules subtab.

To create a new rule:

  1. Click the Truncation Rules subtab and refer to the Truncation Rules pane.
  2. Click Create New Truncation Rule to open the rule creation page.
  3. Enter a unique name for the rule.
  4. In the Truncation Details pane select a RAPCache. Enter your RAPCache user name and password.
    Note: If there is only one RAPCache, the name of the it replaces the drop-down.
  5. Select a database name and table name.
  6. Select a column representing the age of the data to be deleted.
  7. Select a time duration of minutes, hours, or days, and enter a number to specify the age of the data to be truncated.
  8. In the Execution Conditions pane, select either Cache-full Based or Interval.

    • For cache-full based rules, enter a number in the percentage field.

    • For scheduled rules, select a time interval and execution days. Fill in a minute number to clarify the time interval.
  9. Click Save.

To edit an existing rule:


  1. Click the Truncation Rules subtab and refer to the Exisiting Truncation Rule pane.
  2. Click the edit icon Edit Icon next to a rule.
  3. Click Save.
