Preinstallation for an Overlay Installation

To install Adaptive Server 15.0.3 over Adaptive Server 15.0.x server, perform these postinstallation tasks.

If you install 15.0.3 over a pre-15.0 Adaptive Server, then you must upgrade the server. The upgrading steps can be found in the "Upgrading Adaptive Server" chapter in the Installation Guide.

• Running the installmaster script
  Use isql to run the new installmaster script included with this release.
• Running the installcommit script
  If you use two-phase commit or distributed transactions, rerun the installcommit SQL script to restore the following stored procedures:
• Running the installsecurity Script
  If you use the Sybase auditing feature, rerun the installsecurity script. This script reinstalls the following stored procedures:
• Running the instmsgs.ebf script
  Running the instmsgs.ebf script brings your Adaptive Server messages up to the level of this EBF.
• Running the installjsdb Script
  Follow these instructions if you installed Adaptive Server with Job Scheduler enabled.
• Upgrading Job Scheduler Templates
  If you installed Adaptive Server with the Job Scheduler feature enabled, Sybase recommends that you upgrade the Job Scheduler Templates.
• Running the installmontables script
  If Monitoring Tables were installed in a previous version of Adaptive Server, then you need to update the table definitions to this version by running the installmontables script.
• Running installpcidb script
  Run installpcidb script if the Java in database functionality was enabled during the installation or upgrade.
• Reverting to the previously installed release
  You can return all scripts and messages to their former versions.
