This chapter describes the mechanics of creating, altering, and deleting databases and database objects such as tables, views, and indexes.
Procedures are also database objects, but are discussed in Chapter 8, “Using Procedures and Batches.”
Remember that Sybase IQ consists of both a Catalog Store and an IQ Store. This chapter explains how you create both stores, and the objects in your IQ Store. Tables created in the Catalog Store have the characteristics of Adaptive Server Anywhere tables. If you want to create tables in the Catalog Store, you need to refer to the Adaptive Server Anywhere documentation.
