Requirements Package Properties

You can modify a package's properties from its property sheet. To open a package property sheet, double-click its Browser entry. The following sections detail the property sheet tabs that contain the properties most commonly entered for RQM packages.

The General tab contains the following properties:

Description

Name

The name of the item which should be clear and meaningful, and should convey the item's purpose to non-technical users

Code

The technical name of the item used for generating code or scripts, which may be abbreviated, and should not generally include spaces

Comment

Optional label that describes a package and provides additional information

Stereotype

Sub-classification used to extend the semantics of an object without changing its structure. It can be predefined or user-defined

Use parent namespace

Defines the package as being the area in which the name of an object must be unique in order to be used. The package is the default namespace

View displayed by default when you open the package

The following tabs are also available:
  • Detail - Provides fields to record workloads assigned to four individuals or groups. Package workloads are read-only fields calculated as the sums of all requirement workloads (see Assigning Workloads).

  • Traceability Links - Lists links to design objects and external files (see Attaching Design Objects to Requirements).
