Basic software components for Adaptive Server

You must install the software components in Figure 5-4 to access an Adaptive Server database in InfoMaker.

The figure shows the components of an Adaptive Server Enterprise database connection. At top is the Development environment. It is connected to the Database interface D L L called P B S Y C n 0 supplied by Sybase. The Database interface D L L is connected to the Sybase Open Client Client Library for your Windows platform. The client software can go through a network layer, if any, using any supported network protocol supplied by a network or database vendor, and it connects finally to a Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise database.
