Using Maps

In your business process, you can create maps to transform the content of incoming source documents into outgoing target documents.

Note: To create a simple transformation of assigning two or three elements, use the Assign activity instead of a map.

You must complete the following sequence of actions to use a map in your project:

  1. Create a map using the Map Creation Wizard.

  2. Set the source and target context references for your map.

  3. (Optional) Set the source and target context references headers for your map.

  4. Set schema properties for your map.

  5. Establish map links.

  6. Test your maps.

Note: When defining the data transformation of a map, you can use the XSLT extension functions provided by the Map Editor. If the selection does not meet the needs of your business process, you can add your own user-defined extension function.
