Use the New Endpoint Wizard to configure failover endpoint connections:
Right-click the Engine Clustering Properties folder in the Endpoint Manager.
Select Add Endpoint.
Select Engine Clustering Properties.
Follow the wizard through the configuration of the new clustering properties:
Enter the name of the new Engine Clustering Properties Instance.
Enter the port number that the engine will use to send and receive information about service instances running in the ring.
In the Engine Cluster Mode field, Select Failover.
Note: In failover mode, only one of the service instances is working at a time. If the working instance goes down, another instance in the ring will begin processing.
Enter the host name of the server hosting the state database session.
Enter the port number for connection to the state database session.
Enter the session name of the state database.
Enter the name of the state database.
Note: The state database session name and the state database name are dependent on the parameters you provided when starting the database. Refer to Starting an ASA database for details.
Note: This endpoint is selected for the clustering mode property for each server in the cluster.
Select the configured endpoint as the cluster mode during server configuration.
