Use the following worksheet to identify information that you should designate and record prior to installing DirectConnect for Informix. You are prompted for this information during installation.
Much of the DirectConnect for Informix installation process is accomplished when you configure Informix data sources using the Windows ODBC Administrator tool. You use this tool to set up connectivity to the Informix system. As a result, terms on the installation worksheets are identified with one of the three windows:
The General window, where you name the DSN is named and enter the database name
The Connection window, where you configure Informix connectivity parameters
The Advanced window, where you configure parameters that can affect performance and resource use

Database Name: Name of the database to which you want to connect by default. |

Host Name: Name of the machine on which the Informix server resides. |
PROTOCOL TYPE(S): |
Protocol Type: Record the protocol used to communicate with the server. You can specify one or more of the following values, separating them with commas: olsoctcp, olsoctcp, onsocspx, onsoctcp, seipcpip, sesocspx, sesictcp. |
SERVER NAME(S): |
Informix Server Name: Name of the Informix server as it appears in the sqlhosts file. |
