srvbuild

Description

Creates a new Adaptive Server, Backup Server, Monitor Server, or XP Server with default or user-specified values for key configuration attributes using a GUI based on X11/Motif. srvbuild is located in $SYBASE/ASE-12_5/bin.

This utility is not available for Windows NT.

Syntax

srvbuild
	[-s sybase_dir]
	[-I interfaces_file]
	[-r resource_file]

srvbuild -v

Parameters

-s sybase_dir: specifies the value to use for the SYBASE environment variable.

-I interfaces_file: specifies the name and location of the interfaces file to search when connecting to Adaptive Server.

-r resource_file: executes the specified resource file.

-v: prints the version number and copyright message for srvbuild and then exits.

Usage

You must set the SYBASE environment variable:

To the location of the current version of Adaptive Server before you can use srvbuild.
Before invoking srvbuild, unless you are only using the -v parameter to display the version number.

Permissions

You must be a Sybase System Administrator to use srvbuild.
