A customer buys items from the store, and the cash register records that the items were removed from the shelves.
The sales and inventory system notifies the stock clerk on a PDA to restock the items.
The stock clerk receives an e-mail message on the PDA to restock specific items when the sales and inventory system determines that restocking is required.
The stock clerk updates the sales and inventory system using the PDA when restocking is complete.
