In Chapter 6, “Managing Integrated Products,” the “Customizing BlackBerry client device templates” documentation should be updated:
You need not purchase a RIM code signature to create a UA Client COD file used on a simulator (you do need to purchase one if the file will be distributed for use on physical devices). This means:
On page 97, you do not have to complete the procedure, “Obtaining a code signature” if you are creating a COD file for use on a simulator.
On page 98, in step 6 of the procedure “Building a new BlackBerry client,” if you are creating the COD file to test on a simulator, you can cancel out of the password screen to continue without the RIM code signature.
On page 98, in step 8 of the procedure “Building a new BlackBerry client,” the opening sentence should be “Move the files to the BlackBerry direct, OTA, or simulator directories.” Also, the first bullet should be changed from %SYBASE%\tomcat\webapps\onepage\bb to %SYBASE%\tomcat\webapps\onepage\ota\bb\direct.
