Introducing Business Layer Diagrams

The diagrams in the business layer of the enterprise architecture model help you to analyze your organization in terms of business units, processes, and functions:

Organization Charts – provide graphical representations of your organization's hierarchies (see Organization Chart Basics).
Business Communication Diagrams – provide a consistent framework for interactions between components of the organization, and with customers, suppliers and partners (see Business Communication Diagram Basics).
Process Maps – provide a view of how high-level processes are associated with business functions (see Process Map Diagram Basics).
City Planning Diagrams – provide a "big picture" view of the organization broken down into architectural areas (see City Planning Diagram Basics).
