Chapter 17 Working with Eclipse

Setting preferences

You can set the following preferences for PowerDesigner in the Eclipse Platform.

Preference Description
Close diagram editors on exit If you exit the Eclipse Platform without closing diagrams, the models corresponding to those diagrams are reloaded automatically when restarting the Eclipse Platform. This option lets you avoid reloading models when restarting Eclipse.
Flag diagram editor as dirty if parent model requires save Automatically reminds you that a model has been modified before you save the changes
Use integrated toolbars for diagram editors Displays the model tools toolbar attached to the top of the modeling area.
Enterprise Modeling→Automatically merge models on code-to-model synchronization Silences the merge process during reverse engineering.

Steps To define a preference:

  1. In the Eclipse menu bar, select Window→Preferences to display the Preferences dialog box.
  2. Select Sybase, Inc→PowerDesigner or Enterprise Modeling and select one or several check boxes corresponding to your preferences.
  3. Click OK.
