Message format property sheet Definition tab

The Definition tab contains the following properties:

Properties Description
Definition type Specifies how the message format is defined. You can choose between:

  • Embedded file – specifies a message format definition stored within the object itself. You directly type the definition in the Editor box.
  • External file – specifies a message format definition specified outside the model. You have to select a file in the External definition box.
  • URL – specifies a message format definition specified outside the model. You have to type a Web address in the External definition box.
  • Message parts – specifies a message format definition decomposed into parts, which specifies its contents. You create message parts from the list of message parts located at the lower part of the dialog box. For more information, see Message Parts (BPM).
External definition [Only available for External File and URL].
Specifies the location path to an external file or an URL.
Schema language [Not available for message parts].
Specifies the type of schema language used for the message format description. You can enter your own type of message format or you can choose one of the following XML document languages:

  • XML Schema
  • DTD
  • RELAX NG
Editor (text box) [Only available for Embedded file].
Specifies the message format definition details. You can enter any appropriate information in this field, as well as open, insert and save text files.
List of message parts [Only available for Message parts].
Lists the message parts. You can create the message parts, which make up the message format. For more information, see Message Parts (BPM).

You can open the Definition tab by right-clicking the message format symbol in the diagram, and selecting Definition in the contextual menu.
