Exchanging data with other PowerDesigner models

PowerDesigner lets you exchange data with CDMs, PDMs and OOMs.

You can:

Export data from the BPM in order to create a basis for identifying data items, entities, tables or classes in CDMs, PDMs, and OOMs.
Import CDM, PDM, and OOM objects as data in the BPM to identify information exchanged between your processes.

The BPM data and the external objects are automatically linked, and the name of the external objects is displayed in the Definition box in the BPM data object property sheet.

In the other models, you can view the data associated with an object in the Dependencies tab of its property sheet. When the data is modified, the Impact Analysis functionality shows you the affected objects. For more information see the "Impact Analysis" chapter in the Core Features Guide .
