Support for ETL and EII

Feature

ETL & EII products make it possible to aggregate data from disparate sources into a single, universal database or data warehouse. ETL creates an intermediate data services layer to access the data in a standardized way, while EII uses virtualization to present clients with a view of one consolidated information resource.

The ILM now supports the modeling of ETL and EII transformations through new objects and diagrams:

• Transformation process – a high-level process object which, when inserted into your information liquidity diagram, allows you to define chains of data transformation tasks and organize them in transformation control flows in the following sub-diagrams.
• Data transformation diagram - shows how data is extracted from data inputs, transformed by data transformation tasks and stored into data outputs.
• Transformation control flow diagram - shows the sequence of the execution of data transformation tasks
