Chapter 3 Basic Repository Tasks
When you consolidate a document you have to select a consolidation mode. The consolidation mode is designed to help you select the correct parameters in the consolidation dialog box.
There are four consolidation modes in the repository:
Each consolidation is processed as one transaction. If you consolidate large models using the New mode, the server will create large rollback logs, and use a large number of locks; you might want to configure your server to allow such large transactions. Consolidations in the Update, Integrate, or Branch modes use much smaller transactions, and will not require as many resources.
