Chapter 13 Working with MobiLink

Reverse engineering several MobiLink replication processes

You reverse engineer several MobiLink replication processes using the Tools→Reverse Engineering Replication Server command that allows you to select the MobiLink replication processes to reverse engineer.

To reverse engineer several MobiLink replication processes:

1. For each MobiLink replication process, define the data source, user name and password in the Database Connection tab of the consolidated database property sheet.
   
   (If you do not define the data source, the Select a Data Source dialog box opens during the reverse engineering process.)
2. Select Tools→Reverse Engineering Replication Server.
3. Select the MobiLink replication processes you want to reverse engineer.
   
   For each remote database, PowerDesigner asks you to select the data source of the remote database.
   
   Once the reverse engineering is performed, PowerDesigner displays the Merge Models window to show you the differences between the reverse engineered model and the current model. You can decide whether you want to accept or not the created or modified objects.
