Chapter 13 Working with MobiLink
Generating remote Sybase AS Anywhere database for a single MobiLink user
In the Information Liquidity Model, articles reflect the structure of the remote database. Articles and article columns must have the same name as those of the remote tables and columns.
Once articles are defined, you have to make sure that the remote database PDM matches the definition of articles.
If you create MobiLink synchronization from:
- The consolidated database, you need to create the remote database structure from the definition of articles
- The remote database and you have modified articles (add articles, add columns, remove columns, etc.), you need to update the remote database structure
After you have updated the remote database structure, you can generate or modify it.
You also have to generate or modify the publications and synchronization subscriptions.
To update the remote database PDM:
- Right-click the remote database symbol in the diagram and select Update Remote Database from the contextual menu.
The Merge Models dialog box opens to allow you to verify the merge actions.
To generate the remote database:
- Right-click the remote database symbol in the diagram and select Generate Database from the contextual menu.
- Select the data source of the remote Sybase AS Anywhere database.
To modify the remote database:
- Right-click the remote database symbol in the diagram and select Modify Database from the contextual menu.
- Select the data source of the remote Sybase AS Anywhere database.
To generate the publications and subscriptions:
- Right-click the remote database symbol in the diagram and select Generate and Execute Scripts from the contextual menu.
- Select the data source of the remote Sybase AS Anywhere database
