Chapter 3 Building Information Liquidity Diagrams
A server identifies a machine where a data store or information process is deployed.
A server belongs to a package. It has the following symbol in the diagram:
You can create one or more database symbols in the Server symbol to automatically assign the server to the databases. When you drag an existing database into the server symbol a + sign is displayed on the dragged symbol and its Server property displays the name of the assigned server. When you drag a database outside the server symbol, the Server property for the database is set to <none>. However, you can still create a server from the database property sheet and draw links from and to the database symbol.
The following illustration shows a database symbol into a server symbol:
