Chapter 8 Generating Other Models from an ILM

Why generating an ILM into an ILM?

You can generate an ILM into an ILM when you need to keep two models synchronized during the design process.

This kind of generation allows you to create a copy of a given model and define generation links between objects in the source ILM and their equivalent in the generated ILM. When changes are made to the source model, they can then be easily propagated to the generated models using the Update existing Information Liquidity Model option in the Information Liquidity Model Generation Options dialog box.

The generated model is the one that usually contains more information.
