Chapter 3 Building Information Liquidity Diagrams
An information liquidity diagram shows the migration of data within an enterprise. It shows how data, which come from databases, are moved by replication processes using data connections.
Databases are associated with Physical Data Models (PDM) that represent databases structure.
Replication processes can be defined for two targets: Replication Server and Mobilink. They contain publications and article definitions that describe which data are going to be replicated and how.
For more information about Replication Server and Mobilink, see the "Working with Replication Server" and "Working with Mobilink" chapters.
You build an information liquidity diagram when you need to specify, document or implement a data transfer, using replications and then generate script files for replication engines, such as Replication Server or Mobilink.
With the user-friendly graphical interface of PowerDesigner Information Liquidity Model, you can build an ILM diagram and then generate for replication engines.
