Chapter 15 DBMS-Specific Features
Services are specific tasks or set of tasks. Service Broker uses the name of the service to route messages, deliver messages to the correct queue within a database, and enforce the contract for a conversation.
You can create a service in any of the following ways:
You can modify an object's properties from its property sheet. To open a service property sheet, double-click its Browser entry.
The following extended attributes are available on the Microsoft tab:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Authorization | Specifies the owner of the service.
Scripting name: Owner |
Queue | Specifies the queue that receives messages for the service. The queue must exist in the same database as the service.
Scripting name: Queue |
The Contracts tab lists the contracts with which the service is associated.
