Creating a variable

You can create a variable in any of the following ways:

Select Model→Variables to access the List of Variables, and click the Add a Row tool
Right-click the model or package in the Browser, and select New→Variable

Variable visibility

The place where you create a variable is particularly important as it determines the variable visibility.

A variable can be used by objects such as process, correlation key or data transformation, only if they are defined in the same package or composite process as the variable or in a sub-process.
