
Chapter 7 Creating J2EE Applications for IBM WebSphere 5.0
Generating the Java Code and WSAD Projects
To generate the Java code and WSAD projects from PowerDesigner:
- Select Language→Generate Java Code.
- Specify the directory where you want to generate the WSAD projects. Each WSAD project will be a subdirectory of this directory
- Click the Targets tab, and verify that IBM WebSphere 5.0 is selected.
- [optional] Click the Selection tab, and select all the packages, classes and interfaces you want to generate.
- Click the Options tab, and ensure that the value of the "Generate WebSphere Application Developer 5.0 project files" option is set to true:
- Click on OK to generate the Java code and WSAD projects.
PowerDesigner generates all the Java source code, deployment descriptors and WSAD project files, and then displays the list of generated files. You can use an external editor to view the generated files:
