Chapter 7 Creating J2EE Applications for IBM WebSphere 5.0
PowerDesigner uses an Extended Model Definition file (.xem) to support additional targets, such as an application server, O/R mapping tool, IDE, etc. An Extended Model Definition defines stereotypes, extended attributes, code generation templates, commands and options. It can add new code templates or override the templates of an object language (Java, XML, and so on); it can also be independent from the object language. The code generation templates use code templates and macros.
