Chapter 4 Managing a Report
In the Package Options page, you can organize report items according to packages.
This page is not displayed if your model contains composite objects, such as nodes, processes or activities for example but no package.
You can build a report on the entire model or narrow your selection to a specific package that you select from the list. The list does not contain any composite object.
When you select a package from the list, all its sub-packages are also included in the selection.
Global objects (business rules for example) are automatically selected, even when you select a package.
The following options help you organize your report items when your model contains packages:
Options | Description |
---|---|
Without packages, all objects are described at the same level | Displays all objects, sub-objects (like sub-process or sub-activity) and objects contained in the sub-packages at the same level. Option not available for an HTML report as hierarchical display is always provided. This option is not available for a Requirements model. |
One section per package, objects are described under their package | Creates a section for each package. Sub-packages display at the same level as their parent packages. When an object is directly defined under the model, a "Model level" title item is created. Option not available for an HTML report as hierarchical display is always provided. This option is not available for a Requirements model. |
Hierarchical sections, each sub-package is a sub-section in the document | Creates a section for each package and a sub-section for each sub-package. The display exactly matches the package hierarchy. |
The preview pane on the left hand-side displays a table of contents of a sample model that changes dynamically according to your selection.
Composite objects in Full Description mode
Composite objects are always generated by the Report Wizard using the Hierarchical option by default, even if you have selected another package option.
