Creating a repository definition
Once you have created the data source you can create a repository definition in PowerDesigner. A repository definition is a set of parameters defined on the PowerDesigner client. It contains two groups, one for repository connection parameters, and the other one for database connection parameters:
To create a repository definition:
- Select Repository→Repository Definitions.
The List of Repository Definitions dialog box is displayed.
- Click the Add a Row tool.
An arrow is displayed at the beginning of a blank line.
- Type a name in the Repository Name column.
- Type a user name in the Repository User column.
- Click the Ellipsis button in the Data Source Name column to select a machine data source or a file data source in the Select an ODBC Data Source dialog box.
- Click OK.
- Type the database user name in the Database User column.
- Click Apply in the List of Repository Definitions.
- Double-click the arrow at the beginning of the line of the new repository definition to type the user password in the Define Repository dialog box.
- Click OK in each of the dialog boxes.
