Connecting to the RSSD

You can easily connect to the Replication Server System Database (RSSD) using the Connect and the Execute SQL commands from the contextual menu of the replication process in the diagram.

The connection information must be defined in the ODBC tab of the replication process property sheet. The RSSD ODBC connection is used to reverse engineer Replication Server definitions.

Replication Server connection

To generate the Replication Server definition, PowerDesigner generates a SQL script then uses isql to execute the script.

To connect to the Replication Server, you must:

• Type the Replication Server instance name in the Code box of the property sheet of the replication process
• Define the Replication Server user name and password in the User name and Password extended attributes in the RepServer Connection tab of the replication process property sheet
