Chapter 6 Managing Objects
By default you can move an object in the Model Explorer by drag and drop. However, if you drag an object symbol from one diagram to another the object remains in the source diagram and you create a shortcut in the target diagram.
You can change this behavior temporarily by pressing one or more of the following keys:

You can change the default behavior with the Model Explorer drag and drop action option in the General Option dialog box. For more information, see Modifying the Model Explorer drag and drop default action section.
Right-click + drag and drop
If you select an object in the Model Explorer or diagram and then right-click and drag it, when you release the right mouse button, a contextual menu opens listing all the available drop actions.
