Chapter 5 Building Dynamic Diagrams
A condition is a predicate that applies to a transition. When there are several transitions, the flow evaluates each condition in order to choose the one it will transit on.
The same concept of condition applies to transitions in statechart and activity diagrams.
The Alias allows you to edit a condition attached to a transition. It summarizes the condition attached to a transition. You can also use a text zone in which you detail the condition. For example, you can write information on the condition to execute, as well as open, insert and save any text files containing valuable information.
It is recommended that you write an alias (short expression) when you use a long condition so as to display the alias instead of the condition in the diagram.
The condition is displayed near the source symbol as shown below:
