Chapter 17 Model Graphics
When you insert symbols in a diagram, they display in overlapping layers.
By default, when you insert a free symbol (a note for example) on a design object symbol (a table for example), the free symbol is always inserted behind all other symbols in the diagram. Indeed free symbols are usually used as backgrounds.
You can use the following commands to change the layer of a selected symbol.
Submenu item | Description |
---|---|
Bring to front | Selected symbol is displayed in front of all other symbols |
Send to back | Selected symbol is displayed behind all other symbols |
Bring forward | Selected symbol moves forward one layer |
Send backward | Selected symbol moves backward one layer |
Priority is given to the symbols on top: when symbols overlap, it is not possible to select and resize the symbol in the background. Although the grabber handles are visible, when you click to perform the resize, focus immediately goes to the object in the front.
