A synchronization is an object that enables synchronization of control between two or more concurrent actions. It can also design a split of the control flow into several parallel paths.
Its symbol is usually a thick horizontal line, like shown below, but it can also be drawn vertically.
A synchronization object can have different layouts, depending on its number of input and output flows. When working with a synchronization object, you can choose to either use a fork or a join.
