Persistent Java classes

For persistent Java classes, PowerDesigner generates additional methods required by Hibernate:

• An empty constructor
• Getters and setters for persistent attributes
• Getters and setters for navigable associations
• Getters and setters for the primary key class
• Override the equals and hashcode functions of the Serializable interface. Equals function is also used by unit test.
• Override toString function.

You can use the persistent Java classes and the Hibernate API directly , but we recommend that you use the generated Data Access Object.
