Creating a business rule

You can create a business rule in different ways:

Steps To create a business rule from the List of Business Rules:

  1. Select Model→Business Rules, to display the List of Business Rules.
  2. Click the Add a Row tool.

    or

    Click a blank line in the list.

    A rule appears with generic name, code and rule type.
  3. Type a name, a code, and select a type in the Rule Type dropdown listbox.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Double click the arrow at the beginning of the line.

    The business rule property sheet appears.
  6. Click the Notes tab, to display the Notes page, then type a description of the business rule in the Description sub-page.
  7. Click OK in the business rule property sheet.

    The business rule appears in the List of Business Rules.
  8. Click OK in the List of Business Rules.

    Expand the Business Rules folder in the Browser tree view to reveal the business rule.
