Chapter 4 Building an Information Liquidity Model
The General tab contains the following properties:
Property | Description |
---|---|
Name | The name of the item which should be clear and meaningful, and should convey the item's purpose to non-technical users. |
Code | The technical name of the item used for generating code or scripts, which may be abbreviated, and should not generally include spaces. |
Comment | Descriptive comment for the object. |
Stereotype | Extends the semantics of an object derived from existing objects but specific to your needs. You can type stereotypes directly in the Stereotype box of the object property sheet or select a value from the list if you have previously defined stereotypes in an embedded or imported extended model definition (.XEM). |
Server | Name of the server on which the replication process is defined A server is the machine that hosts the replication process information. You can select one from the list or click the Create tool beside the Server list to create a new server. For more information see the "Defining a Server in an ILM" section. |
Type | Undefined, MobiLink and Replication Server. Type of the engine you are using. It influences the generation and the display of additional information within specific tabs and in tabs displaying extended attributes. You can visualize in the Preview tab the generated code according to the type you selected. |
The following types are available for a replication process. Depending on the type you select, the symbol of the replication process in the diagram changes accordingly and so do tabbed tabs in the property sheet:
Replication process type | Symbol |
When to use |
---|---|---|
Undefined | ![]() |
When you do not know yet which target to use. |
Mobilink | ![]() |
When you need to replicate data between a central database and a large number of remote databases. |
Replication Server | ![]() |
When you need to perform near-real-time replication between a relatively small number of databases. |
For more information about the Mobilink type for a replication process, see the "Working with Mobilink" chapter.
For more information about the Replication Server type for a replication process, see the "Working with Replication Server" chapter.
