Chapter 7 Working with Eclipse

Setting preferences

You can set the following preferences for PowerDesigner in the Eclipse Platform.

Preference Description
Use transient resources for diagrams Select this option if you want diagram resources to be created in the Navigator when diagrams are open, and deleted when diagrams are closed, see the following procedure
Close diagram editors on exit If you exit the Eclipse Platform without closing diagrams, the models corresponding to those diagrams are reloaded automatically when restarting the Eclipse Platform. You can select this option to avoid reloading models when restarting the Eclipse Platform
Flag diagram editor as dirty if parent model requires save Select this option if you want to be reminded that a model has been modified before you save the changes
Enterprise Modeling→Automatically merge models on code-to-model synchronization Select this option if you want the merge process to be silent during reverse engineering

Steps To define a preference:

  1. In the Eclipse menu bar, select Window→Preferences to display the Preferences dialog box.
  2. Select Sybase, Inc→PowerDesigner or Enterprise Modeling and select one or several check boxes corresponding to your preferences.
  3. Click OK.
